::the installation
Pathos, an installed storybook, was on display at the CVA Gallery as part of the 1998 Winter Graduate Gallery Occupation and also at The Loring Bar for the Ricochet Kitchen New Year's Celebration. While the paintings were installed, illustrated copies of the book were provided allowing the viewer to read the story in relation to the installation and also have a part of the exhibit to take home with them. The paintings were rendered on discarded wooden doors and ultimately hinged together, creating their own space in the gallery and allowing them to be free standing as opposed to wall mounted.

The "installed storybook", shown here on display in the CVA Gallery, created a physical space that enveloped the viewer, while still maintaining traditional two dimensionality. |
