April 3, 2010 | The Bedlam TheatreRicochet Kitchen Jon Reischl and Neil Johnston perform live painting as part of the Ricochet Kitchen revival event. ![]() [from The City Pages - A List] This Saturday will mark the return of this once-popular party after
a remarkably long seven-year hiatus. And though its name refers to the
kitchen, this epic art party is definitely not contained to one room
at the Bedlam. Instead, it will be a sprawling, three-room celebration
of music, art, spoken word, dance, and more. Bands set to perform include
electro-rockers Apollo Cobra, gothic UZZA, hip-hoppers Ill Chemistry,
experimentalists the Eclectic Ensemble, and musical storytellers Scoot-Em.
Sha Cage and e.g. bailey will present thoughtful spoken-word pieces,
Jon Reischl and Neil Johnston will create live visual art, and a handful
of modern dance troupes, including Curio and Christopher Watson Dance,
will also do their thing. Throw in some Butoh, film screenings (the werewolf-prevention
videos sound very informative), trance poetry, and vinyl DJ sets, and
Ricochet Kitchen may just have all their bases covered. |
