Berenice possibly killed her eldest sister for the throne. Upon her father's return to Egypt, he had her beheaded for treason. We picture Berenice as a spiteful and arrogant woman who fatally exacted the age-old proverb "when the cat's away, the mice will play" Berenice's portrait shows her as a mistrusting opportunist, haunted by her relationship with her father and eludes to her execution.
